WFAA will soon begin filtering spam, graymail, and low-confidence phishing attempts to the Junk Email folder. All employees should start reviewing the Junk Email folder periodically to ensure that legitimate emails are not missed. **Junk Email may contain malicious content, please remember to exercise caution when reviewing these messages.**
Adding the Junk Email folder to Favorites
To ensure the Junk Email folder is more visible, we recommend users add this folder to their Favorites.

- Right-click on the Junk Email folder in Outlook and click on Add to Favorites.

- The Junk Email folder will now be added to the Favorites section in the top of the left-hand pane in Outlook. Users may want to re-order this favorites folder under their inbox by dragging and dropping.
The Junk Email count of total items to unread items
By default, New Outlook will display the total number of messages in your Junk Email folder, regardless of what has been read.
As of right now, this setting is not configurable. You can see the total number of unread messages by right-clicking on the Junk Email folder.
To show only the number of unread items in Junk Email, users can delete the messages after review.
Stop messages from going into your Junk Email folder
There are times when you don't want messages from a specific person or domain to end up in your Junk Email folder.
Messages from addresses or domains on the safe senders list won't get moved to your Junk Email folder.

- On the View tab, click View Settings.
- In the Settings menu, go to Mail, and then select Junk email.

- Under Safe senders and domains, enter the email address or domain you want to add, and select Add.

- Select Save.

- Navigate to the Junk Email folder and click on a message to highlight it.
- In the reader pane, click the button for It's not junk.

- Click on the Report button.

- Navigate to the Junk Email folder and right-click on a message to highlight it
- In the context menu, choose Block > Never Block Sender.
- You will see a pop-up window asking you to confirm your action. Click OK to unlock the sender and move their messages to the Inbox folder.
Block senders from sending you email
If you're receiving unwanted email, you can block the email addresses and domains you don't want to receive messages from. Add any email address or domain to your blocked senders list to move these messages directly to your Junk Email folder.

- On the View tab, click View Settings.
- In the Settings menu, go to Mail, and then select Junk email.

- If you want to block an email address, enter the email address in Blocked senders and domains and select Add. If you want to block all email from a domain, enter the domain name in Blocked domains and select Add.

- Select Save.

- Right-click an email you wish to block.
- In the context menu, choose Block > Block Sender.
- You will see a pop-up window asking you to confirm your action. Click OK to block the sender and move their messages to the Junk Email folder.
Unblock senders
If you want to remove someone from the blocked senders list, follow the instructions below.

- On the View tab, click View Settings.
- In the Settings menu, go to Mail, and then select Junk email.
- Under the Junk email settings, you'll find the Blocked senders and domains.
- To remove a sender from the blocked list, select it and click the trash icon.
