Update permissions for Teams meeting recordings and transcription

Follow

This page shows how to configure the recording and transcription permissions for Teams meetings.

These options must be updated before the beginning of the meeting. Otherwise, the options can be changed but the meeting must be stopped and restarted.

Steps

Create the meeting.

Select the Meeting Options button in the Teams Meeting section on the Ribbon.

NOTE: These options only appear when it is a Teams meeting.

Scroll down to the bottom, select the options you want for recordings and transcriptions, and press Save.

Who can record and transcribe:

  • Organizers and co-organizers

  • Organizers, co-organizers, and presenters

  • No one

Who has access to the recording or transcript:

  • Everyone

  • Organizers and co-organizers

  • Specific people

    • NOTE: These people must be invited to the meeting.

We recommend setting both values to Organizers and co-organizers. Make sure to press Save to save the changes.

It will show Done where the Save button is located. You may close this window.

If someone has permission to access the recording, they will also have access to the transcript. You can’t grant access to just the recording.
